Christmas at The Cardiff Arms
Christmas comes to life at the Cardiff Arms Cafe Bar this festive period as Santa and his reindeers fly in for the magical tour experience every Saturday until Christmas Day at the Millennium Stadium.

Children will get the chance to meet with Father Christmas and receive a festive gift from the WRU Store before embarking on the popular stadium tour led by Mr Claus himself every hour at the home of Welsh rugby.

The Cardiff Arms Cafe Bar is set above the brand new
Welsh Rugby Union Store at 8 Westgate Street.

It's proved a hit with rugby supporters from around the world throughout the autumn international period and is set to get extremely busy in the run up to Christmas with festive fun planned every Thursday and Saturday at the city centre venue.

Visitors to the cafe bar on Thursday can enjoy a free glass of mulled wine or a luxury hot chocolate until 8pm and choose from a selection of hot and cold meals and beverages; including beers, wines and spirits at competitive prices.

Christmas opening hours for the cafe bar and WRU store are 10am until 5.30pm (extended until 8pm on Thursday) and 11am until 4.30pm on Sunday.

The Christmas tour available on Saturday between 11am and 3pm costs £10 per child and includes a WRU gift and a Millennium Stadium tour. Colorfoto, specialists in event photography, will be on site every Saturday to capture the children’s Christmas photos at reasonable rates.

More About The Cardiff Arms
The name is synonymous with Welsh rugby as the original Cardiff Arms Hotel, which resided on the site of the current Angel Hotel at the Castle end of Westgate Street, famously lent its name to Wales' greatest sporting venue which was to become home to the Welsh rugby team from 1884.

The National Ground, and now the Millennium Stadium, were both built on the Cardiff Arms Park site, which was an area of land bequeathed to the city of Cardiff for sports and recreation by the Marquis of Bute. In using the name Cardiff Arms - the hotel was demolished in 1882 - the WRU is ensuring the name will remain at the heart of Welsh rugby.

The new Cardiff Arms store, bar and cafe will be the gateway to the Millennium Stadium and the WRU's head offices. It will also allow the WRU to bring the unique Millennium Stadium match and event-day experiences even closer to the City.

The venue officially opened to the public on Friday, 6 November at 10.00am, ahead of the first Test in the four-match Invesco Perpetual Series, between Wales and New Zealand.
